Fabulous Hot Chili Recipe

Spring is a perfect time to bring out those recipes that got shoved to the back of the recipe box over the winter. One of my favorite spring recipes is hot chili. I love pouring it on fries or hot dogs. This is one of my favorite chili recipes that makes a mouth watering dish that packs a bit of a punch.

1 can hot stewed chili tomatoes diced

1. In a large skillet add EVOO, diced onions, green peppers, minced garlic and ground beef. Cook on medium heat until beef is browned. Drain grease into a separate container.

3. Remove from heat and serve. Add raw onions and cheese the top. Enjoy!

You can add 1/8-1/4 cup of brown sugar to this to help mask the heat and make it warm and you can add a teaspoon of unsweetened chocolate to give it a deep rich red color. I’ve substituted the hamburger for lamb meat, ground turkey, and stew meat in the past. Lamb and ground turkey are both lower in fat unless you get the 90/10 hamburger meat. Each meat gives the chili a unique flavor.
