Chillin at Bellacino’s right now for Lunch enjoying a B.L.T. Grinder! The below picture does not do any justice to the big chunk of crispy bacon right under the lettuce and tomatoe, can’t even see it. This one was really good guys.

So is this like on french bread and you put the other slice on top and eat it or do you go at it with a fork? Sorry I’m a Grinder newb!

I love grinders! And that looks 10 times better than the Reasor’s sandwich I’m eating right now. Even if it is on that yummy Hawaiian sweet bread.
I usually order the Zesty Italian, and make a few modifications to suit my picky self.

Dear Grinder Newb,
Great question! The original term, “Grinder” came during WWII when the ships would come back from the war, the people who would grind the rivets off the ships inherited the name, “Grinders”. Itallian immigrants opened up sandwich shops along the eastern seaboard and started with these large fresh baked Itallian loaves of bread, filleted them down the middle, added good portions of meats and cheese, baked them in the oven and then added fresh toppings.
Bellacino’s still carries on this tradition today! Come on out and try one!
