Taste of Bixby: Check Out the Video and Amazing Food!!

Upon arriving at the Taste of Bixby, I was excited about the event. I was a little less thrilled when I walked in the door having already paid $22 on this event that had been advertised as $15 on the Chamber of Commerce website. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t mind paying the $22, it was just frustrating, in that I was expecting it to be $15. I had to pay $5 for parking which was not mentioned in the advertising and then at the entrance is was informed that the ticket was $15 but that there was a $2 service fee. But then again, I may have gotten a deal because the ticket that they gave me said it was $18.

The event was better than expected from that point. For being such a beautiful day it would have been nice to have been outside, however I really enjoyed getting to see the inside of the Spirit Event center which was a really nice venue. It was a really great chance to meet some local restaurant owners and sample some of the amazing food they were offering. There are a few restaurants that I can’t wait to try at their actual locations now. One that I really enjoyed was the Golf Club which had amazing crab cakes. I finally got to try some of Tulsa’s best ham from The Hamlet. The honey kissed ham was delicious and I can’t wait to try their ham sandwiches. It’s Greek to Me, Tulsa’s first hookah bar, was there and I got to try their amazing Baklava. I also loved trying the berry pie from Kari Okie Café and Bakery. I want to get by there and give their cheeseburger a shot, as well as to check out the jalapeno bottle caps. It seems like it would be a really fun restaurant to visit especially, with kids. It was great to see Indigo Joes there. I have been a long time fan of their Bleu cheeseburger, however I didn’t previously know that they had awesome fall off the bone ribs.

I also appreciated the great live music. Everyone enjoyed the music of Miles Ralston, a local musician and jazz guitarist. After hearing his music, I know that he will be the first one that I will recommend if someone is looking for some amazing local talent. If you would like to book Miles or see him at his next show check out his website www.milesralston.com and visit his Show page.

Overall the event was great. I think that it would be an excellent event to have more frequently than just once a year. I had a really wonderful time and am excited to go back next year. Be sure to check out the video below to see some of the other amazing food and restaurants that we got a chance to sample.
