Although Tulsa has some amazing places to get pizza like Hideaway and Mazzios, sometimes I really get in the mood for some traditional Chicago deep dish pizza straight for The Windy City. For that there is only one place to go: Giordano’s. They started serving their deep dish pizza in 1974 and quickly became a Chicago legend.
I absolutely love Giordano’s traditional Chicago deep dish pizza. So when I heard that they are selling their pizzas partially baked and then frozen. You just go on their website where you simply place your order and your amazing traditional Chicago deep dish pizza will be delivered straight to your door in usually 2 to 4 business days. This is perfect to have friends over or just to have a family night with some deep dish pizza!

Wow! You had better LOVE the Chicago Pizza when the shipping cost more than the pizza itself. Looks good, but no thank you.

If it’s amazing Chicago-style pizza you’re after, there’s no need to cook it yourself or pay outrageous shipping fees… Just go to Savastano’s Pizzeria at 105th and Memorial, in front of the Spirit Bank Event Center. I have had Giordano’s on a visit to Chicago. It is amazing pizza, but I can say Savastano’s has very successfully duplicated the same style of pizza right here in Bixby/South Tulsa.

If you like Chicago pizza or other chicago specialties there is a website: http://www.tastesofchicago.com/ Here you can get Lou Malnati’s Pizza, Garrett’s Popcorn, Eli’s Cheesecakes, Carol’s cookies, Manny’s Deli (not NY but good) and even Vienna Beef or Portillo’s hot dogs…Yes the shipping is very expensive…But it makes a great treat and since my husband is from Chicago we really miss these things sometimes. Might want to try this for a party one Sunday afternoon while watching the Bears lose? May make you feel better.
I will have to give Savastano’s a try…but I do miss Chicago foods!
