Greetings Tulsa Food Blog Readers!
I am excited to share this progress report with you regarding our wonderful website and all the amazing people involved in the continual development and growth on the Tulsa Food Blog. As this beautiful fall season brings in the holidays, we are looking forward to bringing you, our readers a variety of new content in the form of authors, entertaining multi-media, interactive giveaways and of course, the good ol’ awesome tasting food in Tulsa!
Exciting Contributors
If you haven’t checked out Mark Stenner’s introductory wine article and debut on the Tulsa Food Blog: Wine as a Personal Journey and Adventure, click here. Earlier today, Mark brought us another great article: Wine and Friendship. In the coming weeks, Mark will continue to bring you exciting educational information, news, blurbs, event information and his experiences with wine in Tulsa and around the world. In the coming weeks, also stay tuned for the NEW Tulsa Food Blog Wine Section.
Over the past few years, one thing that has become increasingly important for me has been saving money. Lets face it, eating out can be expensive. One thing we can all relate to is that eating a great meal at a great price makes that meal taste a whole lot better. A few weeks ago I was excited to introduce our readers to David Christopher, founder and operator of TulsaRestaurantDeals.com. David is the guy who is going to make your meals taste that much better. If you haven’t checked out this impressively organized website, Do it now! TulsaRestaurantDeals is organized by areas in Tulsa, Food types, Restaurants, Age Groups and so much more. Not only that but if you are on the go, log on using your mobile device and the website is easy to navigate.
If you are looking for a perspective on food from a guy that has not only traveled the world, but established some of Tulsa’s best eateries…you need to check out the last few posts from Elliot Nelson. Elliot needs no introduction, this man has already provided a few amazing articles: Guinness, the Drink that Opened My Eyes and Pastor, Pastor. Also, stay tuned for not only more articles, but a few entertaining videos.
Calling all burger lovers! If you haven’t checked out Joesburgersearch.com, it is the answer you’ve been looking for. Joe has written several reviews that will be sure to wet your mouth. Whats even better about Joe is that he has a long list of burger joints just waiting to be reviewed.
The fun doesn’t stop with editorials. We have many amazing contributors that make the Tulsa Food Blog possible. In the following weeks, we will be bringing you more great content to fulfill your abnormal cravings, habits and foodie desires. I would also like to point out the first entry on Pure Raw Cafe by renowned chef, Amanda Jane Simcoe. We hope that she will become a frequent contributor. To read more of Amanda’s musings, visit her blog: The Cheese Wench and her FaceBook fan page.
Introducing: Tulsa Food Talk
For the past several weeks I have been excited to announce this project. Still in beta form, allow me to introduce to you: Tulsa Food Talk- http://www.tulsafoodblog.com/talk. I always envisioned having a section of the website where foodies from Tulsa could freely post whats on their mind. Whether it be pictures, recipes, blogs, recommendations or videos….Tulsa Food Talk is a place where Tulsa Food Lovers can converse about these random subjects posted by Tulsa Foodies like yourself. One of the exciting things about Tulsa Food Talk is that you can join the conversation! Check out Tulsa Food Talk and let us know what you think. Prepare yourself for a random assortment of food from all around. Click here to register.
Since we are still in beta testing, new foodies will be moderated for the first few weeks to 1 month. A few things you will find on Tulsa Food Talk are random videos from the kitchen, recipes, advice from experts around town, live blogging streams from events around town, massive burger photos from Joe’s Burger Search, a poll debating the existence of Turkey Bacon, foods from afar and other random things that come from the minds of people that live to eat.
Giveaways
You may have noticed the giveaways each week the past 2 weeks. Although we make no promises, we are going to try to bring you one giveaway every week. As a matter of fact, we have 2 months of giveaways lined up, so stay tuned! If you haven’t joined today’s giveaway, go back to the homepage and find the latest giveaway! Who doesn’t love free food? After all, it always tastes better when it’s free!
iPhone Application
As you may or may not know, Tulsa Food Blog has an iPhone application. This is something that we’ve developed in response to the large amount of people using Tulsa Food Blog on their iPhones. Two months have already passed since the launching of this app and as we have reported in previous updates, the app is 100% bug free and continues to provide great discounts in the digital discount section. If you have an iPhone and haven’t downloaded this awesome application, click here to download it for free in the iTunes application store. If you already own the application, I hope you have enjoyed reading the Tulsa Food Blog on your iPhone, not to mention the great discounts offered to you at any time. Plans are in the workings for new features to the iPhone application, so stay tuned as we strive to bring you innovation.
Enjoy your weekend!
