Kupcakz the tastiest Food Blog we’ve ever written

October 11th, 2008 by Staff – Comments (9)

This is a special edition weekend Tulsa Food Blog. We normally don’t write food blogs on the weekend but after our experience at Kupcakz in Tulsa at 71st and Mingo I just had to come right home and start writing. First off when we walked in there was quite a line and the display racks had four lonely cupcakes left one of which is now in my stomach. We couldn’t believe it they were sold out, but the owner and Chef, Doreen took our order and assured us she would be making more cupcakes her third batch of the day. Meanwhile we tried the Lemon Drop cupcake which is zesty lemon cake with lemon curd and lemon cream cheese frosting. Doreen told us that we would never be the same after eating the Lemon Drop cupcake and she was right, it was by far the best cupcake I have ever eaten in my life. The hour wait (well worth it!!!)  is about up so we’ll be heading back to Kupcakz to pick up our order, stay tuned for part two of this special edition weekend Tulsa Food Blog.

I don’t understand these reviews! I have tried Kupcakz three different times and each time have been very disappointed. The cupcakes were dry and the chocolate was so bitter I couldn’t eat it. The $2.50 each was completely overpriced especially for the size and the fact that they were dry. Complete waste of my money and I will not return for a fourth time.

Doesn’t their menu say bittersweet chocolate. Just wondering. I love Kupcakz. Never had a cupcake that was dry. But you are certainly entitled to your own opinion.

I agree, I’ve visited about 6 times and tried every single cupcake never a dry one.

I love this place. You can’t get a better quality cup cake anywhere. I don’t think Sprinkles even compares.

Try the ones that are like Boston Cream Pie. They are fabulous. I’ve never had a dry cupcake there either. The crumb on their cupcakes is so delicate. I love the bittersweet chocolate on top.

Why does everyone think these are good? I went and bought one of each. They were disgusting. Even the smell walking into this place was wrong. I have been to many bakeries and none had the stench of this place. Not only were they dry but some of them just tasted rancid.

for the two ladies complaining. number one the place doesnt smell like anything but cupcakes, the best tasting moist worth every penny in tulsa. everyones is entitled to an opinion but why try and tear down someones business. people look here before they try something and your comments could be the demise of an amazing business. i would love to know what people say after they ate a meal at your house and then went and posted it up on here.

I too think these cupcakes are amazing…I seek out cupcakes in every major city, like Magnolia’s in NYC and Sprinkles…I think Kupcakez is as good if not better…I especially love the coconut or tropical flavor…
