Unless my ears are mistaken the merry sound of Christmas Muzac has invaded Tulsa’s Malls, so I thought we would celebrate with a couple of my favorite restaurant deals for couples and families to share.
We’ll start with the great Hideaway Pizza which looks festive year round and is always a favorite with the kids.
If you’re likely to bust a gut this year over the dinner table you might want to get into training with Monterey’s Mexican Fajita deal for two, available only on a Tuesday and it comes with an appetizer and dessert.
Montereys > $22.99 1 Pound of Fajita to Share, Queso Appetizer and Sopapillas, Tuesday 11am-10pm
In other Mexican news I finally got around to trying El Guapo’s $1 Tacos and here’s the evidence. A great cheap meal with plenty of meat, although if I had to nag I’d say the meat was slightly on the dry side. This is a great place to take your college buddies and soak up some of that.
El Guapo’s Cantina – $1 Carnitas Tacos, Tuesday 4-10pm

A new deli has hit downtown in a flurry of activity. They’re running a toy drive, so if you’d like to give a little back this Christmas they’ll reward you with 10 percent off your bill.
And last but not least, the run-up to Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without a sweet treat. Surprise a loved one, or yourself, with a dozen fresh cookies. Much more practical than a dozen red roses.
Felinis Cookies and Deli > 1/2 Price Day Old Cookies ($3.50 a Dozen), Tuesday-Saturday 7am-3:30pm
And I wish you all a very merry Christmas full of rich foods and bargain knock-down prices.
Eat well, eat local!
