To quote a random customer in the store, “the only thing that this QuikTrip is missing is a basketball court and video games”. He was pretty much right. Be proud Oklahoma, the QuikTrip at 129th/Olive & 51st is the gas station of the future. This store has everything from take-home evening meals to Habenero Lime flavoring added to any drink or ice-cream treat.

With summer slowly beginning to fade I decided to join some friends up on Grand Lake. After spending the day relaxing on the waterfront, we went swimming and then went hiking down a spillway and then began to walk back through Disney, Oklahoma to the starting point of our trek. After all the activities of [...]

May 28th, 2009 by bpmccullough – Comments (7)
Out for an afternoon drive, a friend and I stumbled across Freddie’s Hamburgers (not to be confused with the Freddie’s Frozen Custard chain). Freddie’s had been recommended from several different people on the Tulsa Food Blog and so we decided to stop in. The building is not much to look at but reminiscent of a [...]

Arnold’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers: Greasy Goodness
April 29th, 2009 by Staff – Comments (7)
I met up with a friend at his favorite burger joint Arnold’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers. It is definitely a dive with that greasy felling that you would expect at a hole in the wall burger joint. The food is so good though. I had a double cheeseburger, onion rings and a chocolate malt. The burger [...]

Upon the recommendation of my boss I decided to give Firehouse Subs a shot. I had never heard of it before and its nondescript location next to Gold’s gym had caused me to overlook it in the past. The whole place is decorated in firehouse theme. They give you the option of having your sub [...]

Having drove by Baja Jack’s everyday for work I was anxious to give it a shot. On a business lunch I convinced my partner to go to Baja Jack’s. The sheer size of the menu is impressive. I ordered the Build your own Burrito, which was great because you can pick whatever you like and [...]

I don’t typically write reviews on large franchise eateries, BUT I have to share Firehouse Subs with you. It is my second favorite place to eat in Tulsa. The Tulsa location is at 66th and Memorial Drive in the same building as the new Gold’s Gym. I have heard that the franchise owner of this [...]

Bama Tulsa Ok!
April 20th, 2008 by Staff – Comments (0)
Ok so I don’t go to McDonalds very often because there’s no way to eat healthy there, and let’s face it – If you want to splurge, you want it to be on a “real” burger, not off McDonald’s “dollar menu”. However, the apple pies made by Tulsa’s own Bama Companies, are delicious! I told [...]
