The Burger that started it all
It was a day that started out like any other day. It was gloomy out and traffic had sucked so I had set my sights on something delicious yet attainable. Having not been in Tulsa long I decided to roll the dice with an unknown restaurant. Little did I know that this would change my life.
As soon as I walked in the door the gloom of the day began to melt off of me. The saturated colors and warmth of the restaurant went straight to my soul and I knew that I had come to the right spot. Once seated, I decided to remedy my mediocre day with a burger. I expected this burger to be a semblance of the day I had already had; not the best but okay for a gloomy Tuesday. Once it was set before me, though, I knew I had been gravely mistaken. There before me, in all its glory was the most mind blowingly, beautiful burger I had ever seen. The bun was thick and soft with a slight toast to it that I knew would make that indescribable crunch sensation in my mouth in moments. The burger was so juicy and cooked to a flawless medium, its perfectly pink center dripping delicious juices that made my mouth water. The piece of art that was my lunch was piled with melted cheese that dripped ever so gracefully onto the bun, perfectly crisp lettuce, a bright red tomato and of course the ideal array of condiments.
I had always loved food and yet had never taken time to appreciate it like this. The first bite I took was pure decadence. The flavors exploded in my mouth and I knew that this burger would change my life. I didn’t know then that, that burger would be the burger that launched a thousand posts on a Tulsa food blog but looking back there it all was waiting for me. My delicious burger and my desire to tell the world about the thrill a simple hamburger had brought me brought the Tulsa Food Blog into existence. Now where I had that burger is still a secret but I challenge you to share your guesses. Who knows, maybe I will find an even better burger hiding out there.
